Carnell Lake is a member of the Steelers coaching staff, as today Mike Tomlin hired the former Steelers safety to come aboard to coach the secondary.
Mike Tomlin filled the only opening on his staff today when he hired Carnell Lake to coach the Steelers’ defensive backs. Lake returns to the team for which he excelled as a defensive back from 1989-98. Lake, who interviewed with the Steelers last week, coached the secondary at UCLA, his alma mater, in 2009 but left after one season because of family reasons. Lake, who played mostly safety for the Steelers but also lined up at cornerback, made the Pro Bowl four times while in Pittsburgh. He was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Year in 1997.

Good luck Carnell…you’ll need it with what you’re being given.
