For those that are in the Pittsburgh area and want to hit up a pep rally for the Steelers, the Tribune-Review printed today some of the parties that will take place this weekend.
Uniontown Mall
A pep rally will be held today from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. near Dunham’s Center Court.
It features a best-dressed fan contest for all ages — the winner will receive a $100 mall gift card — and Steelers merchandise giveaways. The Girlz in Black Hats band will perform.
Greensburg
The Westmoreland County Courthouse will host a rally at noon Friday in the courtyard area.
Cheerleaders from local high schools will participate.
Ligonier
Ligonier Mayor Ormond “Butch” Bellas will serve as master of ceremonies for a pep rally on the Diamond at noon Friday.
Bellas said he will wield a cheese grater at the celebration.
Uniontown
A pep rally will be staged at noon Friday in front of the Fayette County Courthouse, outside the entry of the adjacent old courthouse building.
Activities include a Steelers ladies dance contest, radio station broadcast, prizes and giveaways, and an appearance by the “Steeler Spiderman,” Dave Doman.
Lunch will be available for a $4 donation to benefit the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. The Community Action Food Bank will provide bins to collect nonperishable food items.
Mt. Pleasant
A one-hour pep rally will begin at the gazebo in Veterans Park at 1 p.m. Sunday.
A DJ will play Steelers fight songs, and prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed Steelers fan and the best-dressed Steelers pet.
“We’ve held a pep rally the last two times that they went to the Super Bowl, and they won,” Mayor Jerry Lucia said.
