Some guy named Khaled Elsayed (yep, never heard of him either), over at the site ProFootballFocus.com has come out with his All-Rookie team, and it’s pretty obvious that he must have watched about 3 minutes of Steelers football this season. Below he named Pro Bowl Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey as the rookie center of the year, but also takes a pretty big shot at him in his two sentence write-up.
A winner by default. Pouncey may make the Pro Bowl every year for the rest of his life on the back of a reputation he has really yet to earn. In fact Pouncey was downright awful at times, and has a long way to go before he lives up to the press hype.
Wow. Elsayed is the first person I have seen to even come close to saying that Pouncey was at times “awful,” and that he’s not lived up to his billing. Take the fact the Steelers players and coaches have gone out of their way to talk in such glowing terms about their first-round pick, and sounds to me like Elsayed’s write up is a little more than off base.

Just pure idiocy. Exactly like the dribble written by Burt Hubbach in todays NY Post. Trying to invent locker room material for the Jets by calling Clark “snobbish” and taking his comments completely and utterly out of context. An absolute joke. Let ’em talk, our boys will walk Sunday.

Not only is this Elsayed a frickin’ wannabe, know-it-all football writer, most broadcasters and game announcers have praised M. Pouncey for becoming a leader of that OL, which has been torn and tattered w/ injuries, all year. Not to mention, Pouncey has only allowed less than a handful of sacks, in his rookie season. Very rare for a rookie C, in the NFL. Pro Bowl…by default? WTF kind of stupid, useless, nonsense, crap is that? I mean, The Steeler’s OL has been suspect, even during the last two SBs. Lest we forget, M. Pouncey beat-out Justin Hartwig, who had been a stable force for years, in the middle of the OL. This comment comes from a lifelong C (pop warner, high school, and college), and diehard Pittsburgh Steeler Fan, whose all-time favorite Steeler player happens to be, Mike Webster, my HOF idol!

It’s obvious that he don’t know squat about football.
