Ben Roethlisberger underwent surgery to repair his broken nose today, but is not expected to miss any playing time, and should be ready to go Sunday at home vs the Bengals.
Roethlisberger was injured while being sacked Sunday night by Baltimore’s Haloti Ngata, whose left hand raked across the quarterback’s face during the Steelers first offensive series. Ngata was not penalized.
The QB bled profusely, but was treated on the sideline and returned to the game without missing any plays. He later threw the game-winning touchdown pass.
The operation was performed on Monday, he also underwent nose surgery after being seriously injured in a June 2006 motorcycle accident in Pittsburgh.
