bottom line is u can’t do much with an offensive line that sux! The Steeler brass are the ones who put them together and unfortunately on the field! This simply means that now and doubly unfortunately is tha fact that no Steelers fan in their right mind should have problem with the team drafting another first round offensive lineman in lieu of a much needed, taking half of the football field away, CB!!!! ON top of all this, personal fouls on kickoffs!?! This falls squarely on suckass Tomlin, his coaching staff and their lack of discipline! No reason this game should be close! The Steelers are pathetic in terms of intensity, preparation and situational football! Bill simply have no talent, look at their roster…I realize that games are not played on paper but sometimes you just have to simply look at, line up against your opponent and SEE that they have no real talent; have been winning on intensity—and beat them on the field, in their minds and on the scoreboard!

Let me reply to myself since no one else will…Matt can you please forward this to Tomlin since I have no means to do that…which is he’s overrated as a coach and a piss poor disciplinarian…I also started drinking decaf…Also, Kemo is garbage, he was actually given a contract extension…LOL! This offensive line is garbage, injuries or no injuries, if you need help against another d-lineman, then why are you on the field?!?

Three step drop on third down and WHY is the ball not out, Ben?!? it’s only four yards you need, yeah Flozell got beaten by an old man but you gotta get rid of the ball on third and fucking four!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is proof positive that our Steelers are pretenders! No Discipline, poor technique and NO BALLS!! I am finally ashamed of the product that Tomlin and his piss-poor staff has put together! It will be a long time before this team gets back into contention. This is not a pessimist talking either, anyone with brains can see the sub-par team performances and inability to go out a WIN games. If anyone thinks this team is going places they should have their head examined, and that goes for this coaching staff and anyone involved with the drafting process. Kemo=sucks,Scott=sucks, Essex=sucks, Moore=sucks anyone else want to add to this? The line play is horrid and I dont care about injuries. make any excuse you want. Im sorry to say that my posts will be few and far between now because I actually do NOT care what happens to this team the rest of the season. I am wasting my time on game-day thinking that they will change. Until Tomlin,Arians and even Lebeau are gone, and a fresh idea is involved, this team is destined to break hearts every weekend.

the fact that our pass rush cannot get pressure on a buffalo team who has no eric wood, no RT and a LT who, although not surrendering any sacks, WHO THE FUCK IS HE!!!!!!…THIS (oh yeah, caffeine) might be the worst o line we face all year and their inside guys are keeping us off of them, pathetic!

Im guessing these prior posts are during the second half of the game. I do agree to a certain extent with some of your comments, yet you both are too harsh on Tomlin. It was very frustrating to watch the o-line play like garbage, but Tomlin and Lebeau can only call the plays, the players have to execute.
I do agree that the Steelers have to ride off pure intensity, but the Bills arent a horrible team like their record indicates. They play a style of offense that can really do some damage to our defense a la the 3 step quick pass. Lebeau has to do a better job altering his style to play against the opposing offenses.
Some of the goods about the game:
Mendenhall ran well and Hines came to play.
3rd Down Conversions were solid through out the game
Surprisingly Gay came to play
The whole first half
Suishiam was solid
Some of the bad:
The o-line is putrid
Penalties that could of cost the steelers the game (holding on a first down that would of iced the game with a 1:40 left)
Defense blowing a 4th quarter lead
No pressure on the Fitz
The CBS announcers gushing over the Bills all day
Overall while the game was frustrating, the were positives and negatives that both have to acknowledged and addressed. The Steelers have to step their game up if they want to beat Baltimore next week. Although, I have noticed at times this year that the Steelers play up to other teams and play down as well. Consistency will be key during the final stretch of the season

Yeah, George, I see your point and agree that the game is played on the field by the players and not the coaches BUT, at some point the holdings, the false starts, the personal fouls, the philosophy, the playing down to the level of competition HAS to fall on the coaching staff at least to a considerable degree in my opinion. One of the things, for instance, is this whole idea of drafting o-linemen low and big (i.e., late rounds and fat) and then expecting them to be able to pass protect effectively makes no sense I don’t care how much less about the sport I know than Tomlin and company! Someone should pull Ben aside and be like Dennis Miller and say to him, “look, Big Ben, we know you’re the man but being that our pass protection has been about as effective as Obama’s first term, we’re gonna go back to a little smash mouth until we can get some guys up front to match our style of play, whaddya say, babe!”

George, of course most of my negative comments were made during the 4th quarter. But lets be honest, watching this team piss away a lead against a lesser team has to fall on coaches shoulders. Sure, players play, but lack of discipline, poor techniques, small or even ignored adjustments are coach influenced.Watching the o-line get outmaneuvered (Kemo), out hustled(Scott) and out played (Kemo,Scott and Adams) I had finally seen enough. At what point I actually called our brother Jay and asked him if Scott and Kemo had ever played this game before?? Holding penalties are usually attributed to getting beat, and grabbing the outside of the shirt. Well, Kemo did a great job of proving that yesterday and the last one almost cost them the game. Technique and discipline!!!! Also, here is another coaches decision I almost puked on: In the late 4th Qrtr. with momentum clearly on Buffalo’s side, Steelers have the ball and Mewelde Moore is in the game??? ARE YOU KIDDING??? where is Rashard?, Isaac?. To me, that is over analyzing and clearly being stubborn in your approach. Moore cant get out of his own way when used as a rusher, so where is the surprise or even the reasoning for him playing in that spot. It was 1st down!!! Anyway, yes, we will take the win. But clearly this team as it is right now, are not on the same level as Jets/Pats/Chargers/Ravens. If they play up to the Ravens level, sure they can win. An undisciplined team, with 10-14 penalties for 80-100 yards is NOT going into Baltimore and winning.

If i was in a coma for the last 3 months and read the posts above, it would be clear to me that the Steelers are 3-8 and lost the game yesterday.

Mike, try sitting through these games and watching the team piss away leads and field position with mind numbing penalties and lack of discipline and you would wonder how they are 8-3 as well.

Aren’t the Steelers 8-3? What a bunch of whiney bitches…try rooting for the Lions or the Browns or the Bills or 49ers or the Seahawks or the Rams or the Panthers or the Raiders. Not looking like such a bad team now, huh? Its the NFL people, take the win and move on. Tough game against the Ravens coming up but it is a winable game. Listening to Mark and Jay makes me think the Steelers shouldn’t even make the trip to Baltimore next week. Take a breath guys and realize that winning games in the NFL is difficult. Its not always going to be 35-3 wins.

Swiper, with all due respect, my whining is not aimed at our record. It is aimed at the continuing problems that plague the Steelers week after week and year after year. 8-3 is a fine record to have, just how this team is 8-3 is the mystery. An offensive line that is miserable,a secondary that plays erratically and a coaching staff that is mind-numbingly stubborn. My whining as you call it, is directed at the constant weekly discussion on what is wrong with the Steelers that is not being addressed. Hell, if us fans can see the glaring holes,we just want the coaches to see them too. Only it looks like discipline, technique and talent in key positions is ignored …a lot.

Swiper, you’re only as good as your record but lots of 12-4,11-5 teams finish without a ring and most of if not all of them dont have the caliber QB on their side like we do who can get it done if the pieces are around him. If you simply look at records, then you are myopic, period! Like Mark, I look at the disdainful means in which it all comes about and this team does not look good enough…Dr. George’s point was well taken in that Manning gets rid of ball in less than two seconds and Ben doesn’t but that is seemingly his only major flaw! Let me ask you this, if you were planning on building a franchise with BB, would you draft pass protectors or road graders on the oline? And if road graders, then why pay him 100 mil to throw the ball 30 plus times a game…they have no congruence on offense and their defense is getting old. Sorry to be the “bad” guy and voice of reason but 8-3 don’t mean shit, dude…it’s not about the destination (record) it’s about the journey (means to the record)…and I’m quite sure you wouldn’t use whiney if we were face to face, brah!

I understand that the offensive line is not very good but what can you do about it now? Absolutely nothing. Its almost as if the Steelers don’t win in perfect fashion that you guys think the game shouldn’t count. HOw stupid is that? Show me the column in the standings that counts for how a team wins. Go back and read what you guys wrote. Its hysterical. I get that you are using this site to vent but my goodness the negativity. I couldn’t root for a team that i get this upset about. Go Steelers…

Point taken…I guess I spent much of the nineties with one eye open and the other on a team that for all due intent purposes would’ve cleaned house with super bowl trophies had they had a top tier caliber quarterback and that is because they had most if not all other positions around him secure…Now they got the QB and huge holes especially at the position(s) to protect (o-line)…frustrating. I know, we have two trophies to show for it…I’ll admit, in a come clean type of manner, that I really liked Cowher and felt really bad for him when New England cheatriots beat him in those two afc title games…It, admittedly, has scarred me so that whenever they beat us in a contemporary sense, I get nothing short of nauseated….that loss a few weeks back still sits with me.. a me thing I know but nonetheless it’s true. It’s sad when i elicit almost as much gratification from a new england loss as a steeler win.
