I have found so much over the three years we have had Steelers Gab that people out of state have issues finding ways to watch their beloved Steelers.
With that, I would like to use this post for our readers to leave comments for ways to watch the game that are not in the Pittsburgh area.
Basically all I would like to do is for folks to leave websites where you may be able to find the game against the Lions, or if you are out of town and know of a Steeler Fan Club, leave us the info!
In the past websites have left us spam trying to get readers to go to a pay site to “buy” the game, but in the past I have done enough to find the game for free, and that’s what we are looking for here.
If I see any comments with “paid” sites, I will do my best to monitor them and delete them.
Thanks everyone, and as always – Go Steelers!

I always find streams at http://www.myp2p.eu
Streams for preseason week 1:

I find that the streams are better and more plentiful for the regular season. I hope this helps fellow Steeler fans.

Here’s a reliable option: https://preseason.nfl.com/nflpl/secure/registerform.
It allows you to watch almost all of the preseason games online. I watched some of the Pats-Saints game last night and the quality of the stream seemed pretty good to me. Also, the games are archived so you can watch them as many times as you want and whenever it’s most convenient for you. In the case of preseason games, it seems to me that this is a good feature for two reasons. First, it doesn’t seem to me that it really matters much if you watch the games live. The point, of course, is to watch the players — especially rookies, second-year players, and guys on the bubble. It doesn’t really matter who wins the games, so I would think that you could watch the games whenever you have time without worrying about hearing who won. More importantly, being able to watch the games multiple times affords you the luxury of really focusing on particular players rather than following the ball or trying to watch the play of more than one player simultaneously — and, again, it seems to me that this is what makes watching pre-season games worthwhile and fun.
The only catch is that nationally televised games and local games are blacked out. So for this preseason, you’d essentially be paying $40 for three games, because the Broncos game will be nationally televised on FOX. Also, say you live in Detroit, you will not be able to watch the game online. But, in either case, I wouldn’t think it would matter except in terms of what kind of value you’re getting out of the package. So, if you don’t live in one of the cities where the Steelers will be playing, then you’re basically getting 3 games for $40 — about $13/game. However, if you live in a city where the game will be blacked out online, then you’d be paying $20 per game. Either way, while I think it should be much cheaper than it is, I think it’s worth it — especially, of course, if you want to watch teams besides the Steelers.
I only wish the NFL would do something similar for the regular season games. The requirement that you have to sign at least a year-long contract with Direct TV in order to get get Sunday Ticket — even if, like me, you have no interest whatsoever in Direct TV — is one of the biggest rackets going.
I hope this was somewhat helpful.

Shoot, I only read the first part of the post before I commented. Sorry for suggesting a paid site. It’s not spam. I was only trying to be helpful — I was kind of excited to find out that I could watch the preseason games at home and thought I’d share the option with others who weren’t aware of it.
But please feel free to delete the comment — I should have read the whole post first.

No worries Mike, thank you for the effort, and yes, for those that are willing to pay, that is by far the best way to go!

FOr the games that aren’t on local TV here, I use channelsurfing.net and watch on the computer. You may have to download a media player, but I’ve had no trouble. Stability and quality can be a little iffy, but it beats having to go to a bar or not seeing it!

Try http://www.atdhe.net/ or one of the streams from http://www.justin.tv/ I usually connect the laptop to my television to watch. I just bought two tickets to the game for 38 dollars so it would cost about the same to watch it live as it would to pay a site to watch the game.
