If you haven’t heard – Vikings QB Brett Favre has leaked to sources he’s not coming back in 2010. Yawn.
Now that your asking yourself what has this to do with the Steelers, it’s always fun to play the ‘What If’ game, and today right here we are going to do that.
Adam Schefter, NFL Insider for ESPN, was talking today while at Latrobe covering Steelers camp about some of the other QB options that the Vikings would have/could have had if Favre had told the team he was walking away earlier.
Among the names on the list – Donovan McNabb, Marc Bulger, Jason Campbell, and yes – Ben Roethlisberger.
Schefter says that not to forget the Steelers were shopping around their franchise QB back around the draft, and if the Vikings would have known no Favre, they may have thought that maybe Big Ben could have been their QB answer.
It’s all in fun now, as the Steelers are not going to move Ben, and he seems to be back to normal, but could you imagine?
Me neither, but it’s interesting to think about.

No it’s not interesting to think about! It’s absurd, sensationalizing, pathetic journalism that should not make it to sites like this! It’s like tabloids…what have we all grown vaginas now, gossip, gossip, gossipy gossip….fuck that…talk about real stuff…You said Adam Schefter from ESPN, he’s a joke because he’s from ESPN, because ESPN is a joke! Jesus Christ and it’s you’re as in you are at the beginning of your article!

But am I right, Matt? It’s easy to deflect the issue back in my court if I sound overly animated but…am I right…Don’t talk about nonsense! Don’t be like ESPN! We’re better than that…Try and picture the definition of integrity when you write an article; then things’ll be all good!

Did the Steelers ever confirm they were shopping him? I remember them saying they were listening to offers, not openly shopping him.
