The 2010 season is over for Limas Sweed, as today the team officially put him on IR:
The Steelers placed WR Limas Sweed on injured reserve on Tuesday. Sweed, a third-year pro from Texas, ruptured his left Achilles tendon on May 2. The Steelers waived Sweed on Monday, but he cleared waivers, and the club elected to assign him to injured reserve. Sweed, 25, played nine games for Pittsburgh last season, catching one pass for five yards. He ended the season on the reserve/non-football illness list with an undisclosed illness.
