I like what I am hearing about this new 6th round pick RB Jonathan Dwyer, and today the Post-Gazette says that Dwyer will replace Willie Parker this fall:
Goodbye Fast Willie and say hello to the Diesel, who might be the Steelers’ best bargain in the NFL draft. The Steelers were good for two trades the past week, and in essence they concluded another when they drafted Georgia Tech running back Jonathan Dwyer after letting Willie Parker go as a free agent. Dwyer will compete for the No. 2 job and also as a short-yardage back. “This kid’s had 1,300 yards in each of the last two years,” said Kevin Colbert, the Steelers’ director of football operations. “He’s a big kid, with deceptive speed and productivity. And again as a junior you still think he hasn’t reached his full potential yet.”

Dwyer will be a tough, hard-nosed rb that will symbolize the new steelers running game. Mendy and the Deisel will be huge this year

Since there have been no new posts to blog about, I will say I think Gene Collier is an idiot for his latest article about Ben…Not that I don’t think Ben is being or needs to be somewhat ostricized by and for his actions. I full support the commissioner’s decision and am appalled at ben for allowing himself to be put in these situations by himself…But for Collier to say that, ”
People under 30 have come of age in an era of impersonal consumerism, and they want to maintain strong personal values that will protect them from the hype and dishonesty of the marketplace,” is absurd because I have seen nothing in the under 30 crowd that even remotely comes close to a strong yearning or desire to not just maintain personal values, but to HAVE personal values (assuming of course that the personal values revolve around integirty and value for life). It may be a broad brush but kiods don’t care about anyone but themselves these days.

So why should they hypocritically care about the actions of Ben in terms of his conduct. Leave the morals up to the people who have them!
