The Steelers delivered two free agents Monday, as the team inked both Will Allen and Arnaz Battle. PFT’s story on the signings are below:
The Steelers wisely understand their pass-first tendencies didn’t keep them out of the playoffs. Their abysmal special teams were largely to blame.
the team continued to aggressively address the issue by agreeing to a three-year contract with former 49er Arnaz Battle, according to Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. Safety Will Allen, also a core special teams player, was signed earlier in the day.
Battle played under new Pittsburgh special teams coach Al Everest in San Francisco. He’s an aggressive blocking wideout that can fill Pittsburgh’s fourth receiver role.
