One other tidbit that came out of GM Kevin Colbert’s talk on Thursday is that the team has done nothing so far in terms of chatting with those that represent running back Willie Parker. This comes as no shock since there is little doubt after not getting the ball much after the early part of last season that Parker wants out.
Parker is just 29, but has never really been the same back after breaking his leg in the 2nd to last game of the 2007 season in St.Louis. He has shown moments of being a top notch back in the league, but has had too many “dead leg” moments and many feel that his best days are behind him.
What do you think? Are the Steelers doing the right thing by letting Parker simply walk away, or should they at least make some type of effort to keep him around?

I think the steelers would like to make an offer but parker currently would never accept what the steelers are willing to offer. I bet if he’s a FA a week into free agency he gets an offer then when he’s willing to come to terms that he’s no longer a starter. Plus they wanna see how much money it takes to lock up the ppl they really wanna lock up before the think about reinvesting in parker. but that’s just my take

Don’t bother signing Willie. Go after Le’Ron McClain. We NEED a big Bruising, punishing Rusher and he fits the bill.
