A little bit of news today from the Steelers official site:
The Steelers added a familiar name to their coaching staff today when they named Jerry Olsavsky their new defensive quality control coach. In his new position, Olsavsky will assist all areas of the defensive staff in their daily operations. Olsavsky, 42, was drafted by the Steelers in the 10th round of the 1989 NFL Draft and played linebacker with the team from 1989-97.
I remember Jerry Olsavsky well, and even am friends with one of his relatives. I was there at old Cleveland Stadium in October of 1993 when he ripped up his knees and most thought that he would never play again. He was a guy who got the most out of his talent, and it’ll be great to see him back in black and gold as a coach!

Solid Football player and a LB who could fill in and there would be no drop-off. I listed him in the previous post about the LLoyd-Greene era.He played a lot in 1995 when Chad Brown was hurt. He may have even started the playoff game against the Bills, I cant remember if he did or not, but he played a lot in that game.
