The Steelers are hoping to have another diamond in the rough come to the club, as the club today announced they have signed linebacker Derrick Doggett, one of the top special teams players in the Canadian Football League. The team had so many issues on special teams, that inking a solid player from Canada is not a shock.
The club allowed an NFL-high four kickoff return touchdowns while ranking near the bottom of the NFL in kickoff and punt coverage. Doggett played for the Edmonton Eskimos in 2008 and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last season, when he made 27 tackles on special teams. He also had one interception.
