Browns OT Thomas Says Harrison “Flops”

In a funny piece in the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Browns OT Joe Thomas says that James Harrison, who got two holding calls on him last week, “flops.” Enjoy.

Browns OT Joe Thomas is hoping for a pro-bowl start, but he thinks 2 holding calls have hurt his chances. Both holding calls came against Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison, one in each of the two meetings. “It’s something James Harrison has been doing,” Thomas said. “It seems like he didn’t do it last year. Now he’s kind of perfected it. When you push him by the quarterback, if he doesn’t think he can get to the quarterback anymore, he thinks the best thing for him to do is kind of flop as dramatically as possible and hope it baits the ref into throwing the flag” Thomas said. Thomas was visibly angered after being penalized for the play in the game last Thursday night.

He had to resort to that, Joe Thomas, because he wasn’t getting any calls…Personally, I’d like to see Harrison take the left arm of a LT, pin it to his chest with his own left arm, then take his right hand and grab the LT’s left wrist and pull it back until it snaps…then maybe you guys would stop holding james!

BTW, I root for people to get hurt, football brings out the asshole in me, and Ben is one too for holding onto the Goddamn ball too long!

See, this is what frustrates me about the Steelers…Because of Arians, we have a pass first philosophy…b/c of the pass first philosophy, we probably don’t allot much time to running the ball in practice…because of the pass-first philosophy, there is seemingly only a scant amount of rushing plays in the arsenal…because we don’t work on the run, it shows up as much in games…ergo we’re forced to pass with o-lineman like essex who gets beat by an average DL like Jenkins…See, it just makes no sense that we gear up to throw the ball and expect suck pass blocking lineman to hold up against even average pass rushers….maybe that thing that happened to Thurman Munson and Richie Valenz can also happen to Bruce Arians!
