With the Steelers season and hopes of the playoffs all but over, the team seems to be ready to start sitting players that are already nursing injuries. Today coach Mike Tomlin said that safety Troy Polamalu and left guard Chris Kemoeatu will sit out Sunday’s game against the Packers.
Polamalu will miss his fifth straight game due to a right knee injury. In just five games this year, the seventh-year pro has recorded 20 tackles and three interceptions.
“Troy won’t play this week either,” Tomlin said. “We got an MRI done on him Wednesday before we went to Cleveland and there’s not enough healing there with his PCL. We’re probably going to MRI him again, but just based on last Wednesday’s MRI, he won’t be playing.”
Kemoeatu has started 12 games this season for the 6-7 Steelers. However, numerous injuries have hampered his performance.
“I really have studied him quite a bit over the last two weeks and it’s an accumulation of injuries that are really rendering his play ineffective,” Tomlin said. “He’s got the right wrist that’s forcing him to play one-handed at times. He’s got the right knee, which he missed the Baltimore game on. When you really look at his play, this is a guy that’s playing one-sided.”

Watching the Steelers this year is like watching a train wreck! Oh well, they’re still my team and I still will watch them on Sunday. It’s just hard to watch some of the stupid play calling this year. You can’t blame it all on Arians, but man he has to take a big portion of it. Anyway, go Steelers!
