It looks like we’ll be seeing a steady diet of Rashard Mendenhall Sunday in Detroit, as the way Willie Parker is speaking, he won’t be playing against the Lions.
“I’m a competitor and I want to compete and show the world what I’ve got but, at the same time, I’ve got to be smart about it,” said Parker Wednesday. “Right now, I’m not where I need to be.”
Parker has turf toe, and didn’t take the practice field Wednesday. If he doesn’t practice Thursday, it’s almost a for sure then he won’t play in Detroit.
That might not be such a bad thing, as all Mendenhall did was rush for 165 yards and two touchdowns in his place against the Chargers Sunday night in a 38-28 win.

I’m still on the FWP bandwagon, even after a couple of rough years for him. I think he needs to get completely healthy before he tries to go out and play, but he’s still FW. Rashard looked pretty good last week, but I saw him miss a couple key blocks early on, and it makes me nervous that just a couple of weeks ago he was benched because he didn’t know the plays. He sure looks like he’s going to be a monster though.

I really want Parker to return to form, but I dont see it happening. Hes on his last year of his contract and I would certainly not be surprised if management lets him go. Mendy and Moore and much more than capable of carrying the load. I would even like to see Redman get a few touches against the Lions.
