Rashard Mendenhall didn’t do the “details” last week, which is why he found a seat on the bench the entire game against the Bengals. Now it’s coming out that Mendenhall didn’t know the plays, which is why Mike Tomlin decided to sit him and use Willie Parker the entire game. Ouch.
“That’s probably the reason he was making the mistakes,” Parker said. “Coach holds each and every one of us to a high standard and expects us all to perform like professionals in practice.”
This week reports are Mendenhall is playing better, but it remains to be seen if he’ll make it on the field for the game vs the Chargers. He did have a big run vs the Bears two weeks ago, but all that seems gone now that he was sat by Tomlin for his mitakes.
“It’s frustrating, you want to take advantage of opportunities,” Mendenhall said. “You want to prove to the team and the organization what you can do and I wasn’t able to do that last week, so I’m looking forward to this week.”
