The Steelers got a lift Monday, as Stefan Logan, the former CFL all-purpose back signed by the team just after Super Bowl XLIII, was activated off the physically unable to perform list in time for Monday morning’s practice.
“He’s one of the guys … we are kind of surprised by what he has been able to do as a wide receiver,” Mike Tomlin said about Logan in June. “He is running back capable – of course that’s his background – but he is not a fish out of water at wide receiver. He’s worked as a punt returner and a kickoff returner. Position flexibility is his ally, and we are going to help him with that.”
It will be interesting to see how he fits this team, and if he can do enough to earn a roster spot on a championship roster. Back in 2008 in the CFL as a rookie, Logan played for the British Columbia Lions and rushed for 889 yards on 122 carries and caught 52 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns.
