Darn you “Fast” Willie! Seems that the latest heart attack that was suffered by Steelers fans when it was announced that Ben Roethlisberger suffered a knee injury was the result of a collision with Steelers starting running back Willie Parker. The injury, which turned out to be no big deal, was announced on Wednesday, and Ben was back on the field Thursday.
“Actually, me and him bumped knees on a certain play,” Parker said. “But he’s definitely all right and he’s a competitor. I guess he just likes a lot of attention sometimes and he likes being the little baby, but Ben is definitely a warrior.”
Roethlisberger seemed to suffer no issues with the knee at pracitce on Thursday, as he was on the field and just fine. The team also downplayed the injury. “I didn’t even notice it until I saw him getting his knee stretched out. The good thing is it’s OTAs,” OL Max Starks said, referring to voluntary organized team activities. “I’m sure it’s just a nick and he’ll be fine.”
