The Steelers chatted today with former Vikings LB Napoleon Harris. The team’s visit with Harris comes just a few days after they released Larry Foote. Harris was a first-round draft choice in 2002. The 30-year-old has a history with Mike Tomlin, as he played under him in 2006 when Tomlin was in Minnesota.
The Raiders drafted Harris of Northwestern in the first round in 02, then moved him to Minnesota in 2005 as part of the Randy Moss deal. Harris signed as a free agent with Kansas City in 2007 and returned to Minnesota last season.
His best year was with Tomlin in charge of the Vikings D, as in 2006 he started 14 games, and he had 2.5 sacks and three interceptions. The move would be a good one for depth, as even though it looks like the team is ready to go with Lwrence Timmons at one of the inside positions, it would be nice to add another player that could help out.
