The Steelers today gave linebacker Larry Foote his wish and released him from the teams roster. He won two Super Bowls as the starting linebacker with the Steelers, but started complaining about playing time after the team drafted Lawrence Timmons in the first-round two years ago.
Foote had one year left on his contract with a salary of $2,885,000. “Larry has been a big part of our success, but unfortunately the realities of the salary cap made this decision inevitable,” Kevin Colbert, the Steelers’ director of football operations, said in a statement. “We wish Larry and his family nothing but the best as he moves forward with his career.”

Larry definitely contributed, but in the end was he a true team player? There’s a reason LT played on third down. Let’s seen who picks him up and if he can play every down, and that LT is ready. Good luck Larry!
