One day before the draft, the Steelers have made a free agent signing. The team has come to terms with 27-year-old Keiwan Ratliff on a one-year deal. He’s the first unrestricted free agent to sign with the Steelers this offseason. All the focus up to this point was on the team signing their own players.
Ratliff can add some depth to the cornerback spot, more so since the team lost Bryant McFadden in free agency to the Arizona Cardianals. He was drafted by the Bengals in the second round in 2004. He was primarily a backup in Cincinnati, Tampa Bay and Indianapolis, but could compete with William Gay to start at left cornerback this season.
In 6 seasons he’s played in 65 games with five interceptions with 139 tackles.
