Steelers Free agent CB Bryant McFadden is now over a week into free agency, but there are a few teams in the mix for his services, with the Steelers included. SportingNews.com reports that McFadden is down to four teams for his services, with the Steelers, Cardinals, Dolphins and Eagles all in the mix.
McFadden is the best free agent CB on the market, and the Steelers would like to have him back, but if he fails to come to a deal with the team, they will move forward with William Gay as the CB opposite Ike Taylor. Deshea Townsend also remains as a starting option for the Steelers.
The four-year veteran, appeared in 10 regular-season games and started eight of them in 2008.

Here’s how I see it. If Bryant is the best CB in free agency this year, wouldn’t he be interested in at the very least a number 2 corner position on the depth chart? I’m assuming he’d prefer to be the number one corner on any team. That rules out the Eagles because they already have Samuel and Sheldon Brown and extended Joselio Hanson’s contract. Not that I think any of those corners are better than Bryant. It’s just that the Eagles have corners. In Arizona Bryant would be number 2 behind Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. I say it’s between us and Miami because Miami has no one that can cover like McFadden. Could we actually return all but one free agent after winning the super bowl (assuming both McFadden and Leftwich return)??? That would be great.
