Hearing some reports that the Steelers are going to talk to Titans defensive back/return man Chris Carr. The undrafted player from Bosie State played three seasons with the Raiders, and last year with the Titans.
Carr in 16 games last season had 32 tackles and one pick. He’s also a pretty good kick returner, putting up 28.1 yards per return last season, with a long of 52 yards. The KR role is one that the Steelers could use, as Gary Russel was okay at it last year, but Carr is a better returner than Russell.

I think it would be an exciting signing.
We could use those extra yards he would bring. He’s and exciting player and while not a top not notch corner right now I think Tomlin could make improvements and turn Carr into a respectable all around player.
Knowing the Steelers, it will just be yet another visit by a free agent that accomplish’s nothing. I can hope though.

I agree with Raji: I wish the Steelers would focus more on signing free agents than on winning games and nonsense like that. For instance, who’d we sign last year? Just some nobodies named Mewelde Moore and Justin Hartwig. They helped us win a Super Bowl, yeah, but they weren’t the kind of big name free agents I crave.

When exactly did Raji say what you think he did, Matt?
Reading is fundamental. Try to learn how.

Carr would be a nice addition and fit the steelers mold nicely. Yes Matt, I think every steelers fan has that FA craving that is never satisfied, but the beauty about the Steelers is that they dont need to sign FAs to be successful. Everytime we lose a starter we have a backup ready to step in and be prodctive. I have a feeling that William Gay will be more than adequate in taking McFadden’s role.

Matt acted like an A$$. He took what I said the wrong way. I’m a true Steelers fan and do not expect us to sign anyone / every year / forever. All I was saying is that I have watched Carr and think he would not only be great for us as a player but his personality also fits Steeler mentality.
I just dont expect us to actually sign him.
