If your thinking that the Steelers are going to look hard in free agency at a defensive linemen, well, you can pretty much write that off. Pro Football Weekly reports that the team will more than likely not do much in free agency at the d-line spot. Here is the report:
While Steelers director of football operations Kevin Colbert recently pointed to the defensive line as a position where the team needs to add youth, it remains to be seen whether the club will have the salary-cap room needed to make a big splash at this position in free agency, considering that it is likely to try to re-sign several of its own free agents — some of whom could be coveted by other clubs.

How about some original ideas? This is getting monotonous reading the same stuff we get in the Post Gazette. Who writes this stuff anyways, are you from Cleveland or something?

That’s funny. I too would like some fresh topical material such as maybe some stuff based in conjecture or projection like which O-linemen will be left go and which ones kept…Any speculation about moving up or down in the draft…would a Parker, Foote and first round pick somewhere enable us to move (how high) up in the first round or will a combination of players and a lower pick buy us a (high) second round pick…What kind of compensatory pick (if any) will Faneca have landed us…why can’t spaeth block…some people think Kemo is good—who are they, etc. etc.

Hey Tommy and Jay…
A little eduction on other so-called “up to date” Steelers Blogs:
5 Golden Rings – last update on 2/9 was on the Pro Bowl…yawn
Everything Pittsburgh – last update 2/10
Nonstop Steelers (yeah), last update – Jan 30th (great SB coverage!)
Steeler Addicts – nothing more than a portal site
Steelers Manics – 5 updates since 2/2
Black and Gold Blog – 2 updates since 2/4
Steeler Tribute – one update in the last few weeks, that on 2/10
Steeler Tradition – 3 updates since SB.
As for me and SteelersGab…we were IN TAMPA with updates, stories, LOCKER ROOM VIDEO, and more than any other Steelers site out there. We have our own radio show Mondays on 660 AM in Pittsburgh, and have had 10 full posts since 2.12, and 39 since the Super Bowl game story.
Yes, I live in Cleveland, but guess what, I bleed Black and Gold and have never been ashamed of any of our coverage. If you don’t like our coverage, go find another “die hard” Steelers site that does as much as we do. Thank you.

You gotta be kidding me, bro! You’re supposed to be a professional and you take constructive comments with a chip on your shoulder?!? Nowhere in my blog was I berating anything about this site save to opine that I would like some more stuff based in conjecture and then gave some ideas to support my cause. I am not an internet “geek” so I really don’t know a whole lot of blogs. I come back to this site because it’s somewhat compelling and relatively easy to post on…But isn’t the idea to keep striving to get better at whatever you do in life. If you think you’re perfect, go and check your response to myself and Tommy and how you admonished about 8 other sites in one post. I thought we all bled black and gold…Thank you.

Jay,
The comment was directed more at Tommy than you, but it seemed like a bit of a slam that the site was not being updated enough, and yes, it does hit a bit of a soft spot since we do our best to keep fresh material going on a daily basis.
Thanks

Someone PLEASE tell Kevin Colbert to look into Rocky Bernard. He’s a free agent DT and has similar numbers to Albert Haynesworth. My bet is that the Steelers could get him for market or below and after some cuts make the numbers balance out. Haynesworth is too highly ($$$) overrated in my opinion. Rocky Bernard is a deal in the waiting.

Look up his stats and you’ll see.
