Remember the Terrible Towel stomping incident after the Titans beat the Steelers in December? While it means little now, today’s edition of The Tennessean has a tidbit about the whole incident once again and how the Steelers are now in the big game, while the Titans are sitting at home:
So when the Titans stomped on the Terrible Towel following a 31-14 win over the Steelers on Dec. 21 at LP Field, it created a stir that drew national attention. A month later, with the Titans sitting at home and the Steelers preparing to play the Arizona Cardinals here in Super Bowl XLIII, the Steelers say the Titans got what they deserved. “You see right now we got the last laugh,” linebacker Larry Foote said. “That’s what they get for trying to humiliate us and rub it in, for not showing any class. We wanted to play them again, but they couldn’t hold up their end of the bargain. That’s what they get for stomping on the towel. We’re stepping on them right now.” At least one Steeler wondered if the Titans had cursed themselves with the so-called despicable acts of a few.
We called it after it happened, there are only two things in this world you don’t stomp on – the American Flag and the Terrible Towel!

The Titans are not in the same league as the Steelers. They are soft and have no NFL class. Just a bunch of country hicks. I hope they enjoy watching the boys from the Burg lay it on the Cardinals.
