Third Quarter Thoughts: Steelers Give up the Lead

UGHHGG!!!! The special teams had a golden opportunity there to recover that fumble. I’ll give Mitch Berger this, he’s maybe having his best game of the season. Three punts, 44 yards per punt, 50-yard long. Titans take over at the 13, let’s see if the D can get a turnover here, which would be great.

Ok, big play by Ryan Clark as it looked as if C.Johnson was FOR SURE going to get a first down after he broke that tackle. Would love to see Ben get the team going forward on a nice drive here to take the lead.

Big grab by Holmes, and an even bigger catch by Hines on a ball that was a bit overthrown. Ben is hanging in the pocket, and now he hits Hines for a TOUCHDOWN!!!! Ben now 15-for-23 for 215 yards with two scores. I know he’s had some fumbles (see first quarter thoughts), but is there any QB playing better than Ben right now?

Defense just gave up what was a big third-down conversion. Can’t complain, as they have played well enough on defense to win this game. Wow, third and 20 and they give up that first down. That is one tough play to swallow. Ok, it’s short, I bet they go for it.

That is one great call by Fisher. Ike had a shot at him, but Johnson made him whiff, and that was a big drive by the Titans to re-take the lead. Now they have to come right back down the field and get the lead right back. This seems to be a game that really is going to come down to the last two minutes.

That’s a bad pick by Ben….2nd and two and they end up throwing twice. I know the run game has not been great all year, but why there can’t you at least try one run? Now the D has to step up and hold them to zero.

Wow, 4th and three and Collins comes up big with a big play to a wide open Gage, who’s been a thorn in their side all day. Now they have to simply hold the Titans to three if they want to hang around in the 4th quarter. Turnovers are killing them right now.

OH MY…you can’t have that type of call on a 4th down when they lining up for a field goal. All the calls are now going against them too. Here we go into the fourth quarter. I have a bad feeling about this one. Maybe they Won’t have anything to play for next week.
