There has been a lot of concern in the Steel City about the shoulder of QB Ben Roethlisberger, and even a report that came out Sunday that his right throwing shoulder is separated. Not so. At least according to head coach Mike Tomlin, who put the talk of Roethlisberger’s shoulder to rest during his press conference on Tuesday.
I have no idea where that report came from. It didn’t come from me or my medical staff. If anybody in here has any information about where that report came from, send them to me. I’d appreciate it,” Tomlin said. “The guy has a sore shoulder. Again, I’d like to hear from someone who has that information first hand. That is not coming from me or my medical staff. It is an AC sprain. It’s a sore shoulder.”
Roethlisberger would not comment on the injury post-game Sunday night after the Steelers dispatched the Browns 10-6. All he said basically is it was sore, but that his O-line was to credit for a strong game vs a Browns that kept him upright for most of the night. Tomlin also added that there is no danger of Big Ben getting any more injured as the team heads into a big game Sunday against fellow PA team the Eagles on the road.
