After a day on the sidelines quarterback Ben Roethlisberger returned to limited action in practice today. The quarterback was held out of most of the throwing drills to give his sore right shoulder another day to heal but Coach Mike Tomlin says that he expects his starting quarterback to be completely ready to go Sunday night when the Steelers take on the Cleveland Browns in Cleveland.

I wanted to let everyone know about a fantastic event that is being hosted by the Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh on October 19th, 2008. The Emmaus Black and Gold Kick-Off Party will feature a chance to watch the Steelers take on the Bengals on the big screen, tailgate-style food and drinks, raffles, games, crafts for kids, and family fun. All attendees will be eligible to win a Steelers basket with a football signed by Chuck Noll. If you sign up for the Emmaus Black and Gold Club at the event, you’ll be entered into a $1,000 drawing THAT NIGHT! All proceeds will benefit the Emmaus Community of Pittsburgh, which provides permanent homes and advocacy to individuals with intellectual disabilities (mental retardation and other developmental disabilities.) Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children, and $50 for a family ticket (parents and underage children only). The event will be held at the Marriott Hotel on Aten Rd. (only 12 miles from Downtown!). If you have questions or would like to order tickets, please call Tiffany Merriman-Preston at 412-381-0277 or e-mail tmerrimanpreston (at) emmauspgh.org. We hope to see you there!
