The Steelers have resigned defensive lineman Orpheus Roye as a free agent. The Steelers drafted Roye in the sixth round back in 1996. The 35-year-old played four seasons for the Steelers before he landed in Cleveland as a free agent. The Browns cut him earlier this season. Roye was already on the practice field with the defense in Latrobe on Sunday afternoon and is expected to play Saturday against Minnesota.
The team made three other roster moves Sunday afternoon as they broke camp in Latrobe. The club signed free agent tight end Lee Vickers to a contract while placing tight end Jonathan Dekker on the waived/injured list after tearing on ACL Thursday night in Toronto. The Steelers also cut loose Kevin Huntley who failed his physical.
