The Steelers will be seeking public funding to help offset the cost of a proposed entertainment complex to be built near Heinz Field. According to the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and Continental Real Estate Chairman Frank Kass, the Steelers received a $4 million dollar grant for their amphitheatre project but the team gave that up when they abandoned the project. The money went to the North Side garage instead. Kass believes the team needs about the same amount of money to complete the deal. The proposed venue would feature a club-like indoor venue with the ability to hold events outside near Heinz Field and the other North Shore developments.
