Could the Steelers have some interest in recently released Vikings safety Dwight Smith? Well, according to John Clayton of ESPN, the Steelers and Lions are two teams that have interest in Smith, who was let go on February 20th. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin has a history with Smith, having coached him in two places, Tampa Bay and Minnesota. Smith last season played in 14 games, picking off four passes, including taking one back for a TD vs the Giants. He did have some issues off the field, but the Steelers would surely make sure those issues are behind Smith when and if they talk to him about coming in.
