The Steelers took care of one of their own today as they signed backup DE Travis Kirschke to a two-year deal. Kirschke did a decent job last season filling in for Aaron Smith after he tore his biceps muscle for the last four games of the season. He was due to become a free agent at the end of the month. Kirschke has played in 141 games, including 64 with the Steelers. He played six seasons in Detroit and one in San Francisco before signing with the Steelers as an unrestricted free agent before the 2004 season.
