The Steelers rookie punter Daniel Sepulveda is this year’s winner of the Joe Greene Great Performance award, which goes to the Steelers Rookie of the Year. Sepulveda, a fourth-round pick, beat out second-round pick LaMarr Woodley in voting done by local members of the Pro Football Writers of America. Sepulveda is the second punter to win the award. Harry Newsome won it in 1985. First-round pick Lawrence Timmons did not get a vote. Veteran guard Alan Faneca is the recipient of the ‘Chief Award’ which goes to the member of the organization who best exemplifies the spirit of cooperation with the media that was established by the team’s founder, Art Rooney.
