The Steelers will not have Tuesday off, and will have two days of practice before they head to the Gateway city of St.Louis for a now huge game with the Rams on Thrusday night. Losers of two in a row for the first time in 2007, the team was not very good at all Sunday vs the Jags, as they missed tackles, gave up WAY to many yards, and on offense didn’t get much of anything done in the winter weather climate that didn’t stop Jacksonville.
As far as getting back on track, the team will play two bad teams to end the season, BUT, the two games will be on the road, where the Steelers are 2-4. First up is St.Louis, who despite being beaten badly by the Packers Sunday, had been playing better as of late, and with Steven Jackson at running back and Marc Bulger at QB, the team has some weapons despite it being a bad season. “We’re ready to go right back out there,” said LB James Farrior. “When you play so disappointingly like we did, you’re ready to get back out there and try to prove yourself. We realize that we’ve got a good defense and we’ve got a good team. We’ve just got to come together at the right time.”
They have simply no choice but to come together, or they will likely be starting the playoffs on the road. A loss in either of their last two games and two wins by the red-hot Browns puts the Steelers on the road in week one of the playoffs, and unlike 2005 when they pulled off the miracle of three straight road wins, that won’t be happening this season.
