Steelers free safety Ryan Clark had surgery today to have his spleen removed. The surgery came one day after the Black and Gold put Clark on the IR. The injury for Clark took place in the teams loss to the Broncos back on October 21st. The 28-year-old spent an extra night in Denver and has not played in the teams last three games. His spot in the lineup has been manned by 2006 3rd round pick Antony Smith, who has done a solid job playing in Clark’s place. The free safety is expected to be ready to play again next season if all goes well with the rehab.
