Wow. That’s about all you can say about the first half in Tampa, as the Steelers have taken the 2-0 Bucs and have torched them for four touchdowns, three by throws of QB Charlie Batch, as the team is dominating 28-6 at the half. Here’s my first half thoughts as the Steelers seem on cruise control for a 3-0 start.
* I don’t think that ANYONE saw this one coming from Charlie Batch, as the vet is 11-for-13 for 177 yards with three TD’s, two to Mike Wallace. The QB position seems in very good hands now for the next six quarters till the team gets Ben Roethlisberger back. Here’s one concern, and it’s one you have to bring up – keep Charlie healthy for the next 30 minutes.
* The defense is doing as we all thought they would, stopping the Bucs run game rather easily (44 yards), and other than a couple scrambles by Josh Freeman, they have been doing a good job making sure not to give up the big plays.
* While I can’t see the Bucs even scoring 28 points, you have to make sure not to get too far ahead of yourself, and make sure to stay grounded. Here is thinking the Steelers continue dominating the Bucs, and put them away early in the second half. Steelers 41 Bucs 20
