In our ongoing feature here on Steelers Gab called “Scouting the Enemy,” we will look at all 15 AFC teams, and give a glimpse of what each one brings. At the end, we will talk about any type of connection they have to the Steelers, including if they play them in 2010.
Today – #13 in the AFC
Cleveland Browns
The Good – The team enters 2010 on a high, as they won their last four games, and did it with a solid run game and mistake free football for the most part on offense. They also added a veteran QB in Jake Delhomme, who they think will help add stability to the pass game. Josh Cribbs may be one of the top 3 game breakers in the NFL, and on defense they got to the QB late in the season, and they think that will carry over into the new season.
The Bad – They are still the Browns, and usually find ways to beat themselves. Delhomme hasn’t played well since the playoff game two seasons ago against the Cardinals, and they have a lack of pass catchers at the WR spot. They give up a lot of yards on the ground, and teams tend to dominate them in time of possession. They are undersized at the LB spot, and can be beat on by teams with bigger O-lines. They are somewhat young in the safety spot with T.J. Ward and Abe Elam penciled in as starters.
Steeler Connection – The teams will do their usual twice a year thing, the first meeting being on October 17th in Pittsburgh, in what could be the first game back for Ben Roethlisberger. Meeting two will be in Cleveland on January 2nd, the last game of the regular season. The Steelers dominated the Browns in game one last year, but were frozen in sub-zero temps in game two in losing to Cleveland December 10th. They are too good to lose to Cleveland – ever.

#15 in the AFC – Buffalo

Nice article. It reads like it was written by a 4th grader. Then again, one would have to dumb it down for steeler fan to comprehend. Steelers win one of every four games this year. All the bandwagon fans will be looking for new allegiences this fall. Jump off now, schmucks.

You’re so good that you don’t lose to Cleveland-ever? So games you lose apparently don’t count. You’re excuse it was too cold is hilarious—this is football. You’re team was eyeing a playoff berth and that bubble was burst when you came to Cleveland. Classic Steeler fan: We are too good, but when we lose there is always an excuse. How about making excuses when you win (please see gametape of Seattle super bowl, where every call magically went against the Seahwaks and you still almost handed them the game). Very convenient article, exactly what I’d expect from S&^%*sburgh

I am not even caring about it’s the Browns/Steelers thing. I am more concerned with the lack of research. Our qb play was maybe the worst in the history of the NFL and we won 5 games. We started to come together on defense and added a lot of cb depth in the offseason. This Browns team HAS improved in the offseason. Delhomme isn’t my top choice. But if he plays average this team will suprise people. As for the Steelers… games 1-4 will be extremely tough. Your o-line is in shambles, and your top wr is gone. Hines is great, but he is old. Troy is the heart and soul of your team, but can he keep recovering from injury and play at the same level? Browns will get you once this year. If you are not careful they will get you twice.

The all-time series record is 60 – 56. That seems to show that the Steelers have lost to Cleveland – a lot.

Keep in mind the Steelers have sucked for years…. lets do some research and see what the record is in the last 30 years. I love my Steelers and I know its easy to hate them because all u mistakes by the lake are envious

I like how the Steelers dynasty of the aughts–one of the greatest decade dynasties in professional football history–was enough to get this franchise to draw even with the Browns, and then go a few games over .500…
…and you can say that the Steelers are too good to lose to Cleveland ever.
Also, you realize you still have a picture of Gangsta Ben on your page, right?
You know Steelers fans don’t like him anymore, right?
